Head of ESTV Academy

With over 25 years of expertise in animation, visual effects, and creative production, Dongwook Cho leads ESTV Academy as its inaugural Head. Drawing on his extensive career, which includes collaborations with industry giants such as Netflix, NBC/Universal, Disney, and Tencent, Cho integrates cutting-edge technologies with innovative teaching methodologies to shape the next generation of esports and digital entertainment professionals.

Currently, Cho also serves as an adjunct professor at Oikos University, teaching MBA-level courses on Entertainment Business and Social Media Marketing with a focus on content creation using generative AI tools. These experiences complement his vision for ESTV Academy, where he is designing esports business curricula to train students for the dynamic and competitive landscape of the industry.

In addition to leading ESTV Academy, Cho is actively involved in the establishment of ESTV Lab, a research and development hub focused on integrating AI, metaverse platforms, and virtual avatars into practical applications. His strategic vision and expertise ensure ESTV remains at the forefront of innovation in esports and digital media.

As the former Dean of the Digital Arts Department at Shepherd University, Cho designed and implemented accredited academic programs that prepared alumni for successful careers at leading studios like DreamWorks and Netflix. His approach emphasizes hands-on learning, fostering collaboration and selfmotivation among students to bridge the gap between academic training and industry demands.
